Mother's Day Weekend (my second!)

We had a fun busy weekend, full of fun outings and adventures! Saturday we had drove out to this camp area and met up with a bunch of our friends to have lunch around a campfire (the snow is all melted again). It was a gorgeous sunny day! Also, on the way back we saw a baby black bear off on the side of the road. We were able to stop and watch it for 3 or 4 minutes before it went back into the woods. We did not see its mom but they are never too far away! The one bummer about this is ...our video that we took of it ended up getting taped over!! How horrible!! I am still pretty upset about it...it was the cutest little cub and we can't share that with anyone!

Then on Sunday we had to be up early for church (singing in choir we have to be there at 7:40am). Then we came home took a quick nap and then went on another road trip to check out the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center...(Mommy has always wanted to go) a place where they help orphaned animals...(it was sunny in town but it was down poring once we got out to this place (hour).

Mateo fell asleep on the way out... Isn't he sooo precious?

Musk oxen and their new babies! We took two laps around so we could watch their babies again! They were so cute...hear they are resting after chasing (charging) the big ravens around.

Here is Mommy and Mateo in the car we rented staying out of the rain...it didn't work the rain was coming in sideways! (we rented this car for the weekend...because we are thinking about trading in one of our vehicles for this type of car and we wanted to try it out to make sure we would like it...spend more than 15 mins in one before we bought it)

A big male elk that came to greet us...very social.

This black bear has the right idea...but I think it kicked the other black bear out of bed because the other black bear was napping waaaaayyyy up in a tree. (in the rain and wind)(sleeping on the couch...I wonder what it did?)

And they had two owls...Mateo's favorite sound to make. He goes around saying "whoo whoo owl says whoo whoo!" He is sooo smart...I could just eat him up!

It was a great mother's day! What a blessing to get to be the mother of the most perfect and precious son!!
